Summer in Japan
IZU Beach Resort
No need to go Okinawa or Hawaii to seek beautiful beaches for your summer holiday! The Izu/Shimoda area is the one of the most beautiful snorkeling spots near Tokyo, just a day trip away or make them a weekend destination if you've got more time. They are also famous for Onsen (hotsprings), and make great spots for beach weddings and portraits as well. We can arrange one-day photo tours around Izu so feel free to contact us.
Kamakura + Hakone
June is not the best month to visit Japan in general because it is the rainy season. However, it is actually the best season to visit Kamakura or Hakone because the rainwaters accentuate the beautiful hydrangeas growing in the temple gardens. Kamakura is located about an hour away from Tokyo by train and is a former capital of Japan, retaining many traditional and historical structures from hundreds of years ago. Hakone is also one of the most popular destinations located about 90 minitus from Tokyo by trains and famous for hot springs and the scenery of Mt. Fuji. Though Kyoto is also a former capital and is interesting in its own way, it is very far from Tokyo; if you are interested in Japan's history, Kamakura and Hakone are convenient and nearby points of interest to add to your travels.
Japan Photo Spots
Autumn Leaves in Japan
Autumn is the one of the best seasons in Japan for taking beautiful wedding photos set against a backdrop of colorful leaves. For example, you can have pictures while standing on a yellow and red "carpet" of Gingko and maple trees near the Tokyo area. We can also arrange portrait session trips to Hakone, Kyoto, or any other preferred location in Japan. Rental dresses and kimonos are also available.
Spring Sakura in Japan
Spring in Japan is the one of the best seasons for pre-wedding portraits, especially with the Sakura (cherry blossom) trees in bloom. We have amazing photo spots just near our Ebisu office such as the Meguro River area and we can take you to the many other Sakura spots around Tokyo. And just a day trip away, you can have your portraits taken in a vast field of yellow canola flowers sprinkled with Sakura trees that will astonish you and take your breath away. The Sakura trees are only in bloom from about the end of March through the beginning of April for the Tokyo area, so please contact us for further information and to schedule your outdoor portrait session.
